Waiting

Waiting.... I will just be honest. I am one of the most impatient people in the universe. When I want something I need it right then and not next week or a year down the road. Waiting is hard. But... sometimes God doesn’t always answer our prayers right at that moment. And sometimes he doesn’t give us exactly what we asked for. Yep that’s right. Sometimes we don’t get what we want when we want it (gasp). But did you ever stop to think that maybe that’s a good thing? Sometimes we get it in our head that we know what’s best for us when in reality there is a far greater plan for our life than what we EVER could imagine. God already knows what we need before we ever get a thought in our head that we need it. So why is it so hard to wait? One big reason is that we live in a fast paced society. Also there’s the simple fact that we’re human. But in the bigger picture, there is no greater plan for each of us than the one that God has already designed. What does the altar mean to you?

What does the altar mean to you? This is a question we were asked yesterday during our Easter service. We know that the altar is where we go to pray, but to me the purpose of the altar goes a little deeper than that. The altar is representative of a new beginning in my life. That’s where I met Jesus and received his gift of salvation. Since that day it has become a place of forgiveness (which I need daily), a place of restoration, a place of encouragement, and so much more. But the altar is not just confined to the church. The altar can be anywhere that you make it. That’s what is so special about it. The altar has the same meaning and purpose at 12 in the morning when you feel like you have nowhere to turn as it does on Sunday morning when you are feeling encouraged. There have been times I didn’t think I would make it through, but the altar was there for me to lean on at my lowest point. You see, I believe the altar is special and unique to every individual.
