Waiting

Waiting.... I will just be honest. I am one of the most impatient people in the universe. When I want something I need it right then and not next week or a year down the road. Waiting is hard. But... sometimes God doesn’t always answer our prayers right at that moment. And sometimes he doesn’t give us exactly what we asked for. Yep that’s right. Sometimes we don’t get what we want when we want it (gasp). But did you ever stop to think that maybe that’s a good thing? Sometimes we get it in our head that we know what’s best for us when in reality there is a far greater plan for our life than what we EVER could imagine. God already knows what we need before we ever get a thought in our head that we need it. So why is it so hard to wait? One big reason is that we live in a fast paced society. Also there’s the simple fact that we’re human. But in the bigger picture, there is no greater plan for each of us than the one that God has already designed. Sometimes I lose sight of that fact and I start to worry when things don’t happen the way I want and when I want. But I’m glad that things don’t always go my way. I don’t always know what is best for me. As much as I try to make good decisions, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I get impatient and I forget that there is one greater than any worry or fear that I may have. I can think of two examples in particular where I was so sure that I had it all figured out, and I thought I knew exactly what I needed. Turns out God had other plans. And the end result was far better for my life than I would have ever dreamed. I would not be where I am today had I chose to go my own way rather than waiting on God. Sometimes in the waiting process we feel that God isn’t there or isn’t listening to us. He’s there, my friend. When the worry and the doubts start to take over, He’s there. Even when our faith is weak and we start to lose sight of God, He’s there. So I encourage you to wait. Wait on the one who loves you so much that He sent His son to die on the cross for your sins. Wait on the one who will never leave you even when we choose to go our own way. Wait on the one who never fails. I promise you His plan is worth the wait. "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
